Report of PACCS Executive Meeting 19th May, 2018.

Present:  Rebecca Hemeryck, President, Elaine Bell, Treasurer, Martina O’Shea, Vice President, Enda Troy, Liz Ryan, James Connors, Assistant Treasurer, Richard Matthews, Brendan Dennehy and Connie Carolan, Honorary General Secretary. The President welcomed everyone to the meeting.

President’s Report:  The President presented her report: –  A meeting had been held with ACCS regarding Religious Education, she had attended a meeting of Ballinteer Parents Association and a Dublin Regional meeting.  She had been accompanied at the meetings by Connie Carolan.

NPCpp:  As President of PACCS, she has attended several meetings with the other Presidents of the Constituent bodies discussing the changes in NPCpp and Corporate Governance.  This is an ongoing issue and further details will be brought to the meeting as soon as they are available.  However, she was very positive about the proposed changes and how the Council is progressing.

Conference:  The feedback on the Conference was very positive. However, we would like to see more people attending and to achieve this we need to get out to the schools.  A list of the C & C schools was distributed at the meeting and it was suggested that the members of PACCS would contact the schools in their area with a view of getting the Regions up and running.  The only Regions meeting at present are Dublin and The Southern Region.

While we do not have a definite venue for Conference 2019, it is hoped to hold this in Dublin.

Parent / Student Issues:  The are several issues in schools that need clarification i.e. School interaction with parents, Student Councils and their Role in schools, particularly in helping students, Parents’ Associations and how they interact with the parent body in the school and how parents interact with the Principal and teachers in the school.

NPCpp Helpline:  The Helpline is being organised at present and a Conference later in the year.

The meeting concluded.  The next meeting will be on 15th September, 2018.
