PACCS Executive Report – October /November 2017
Conference: As reported in our last Executive report PACCS had hoped to travel to a school in the North West hold our2018 Annual Conference. However, when taking into account distance and the timing, which is the first Saturday in March, it was felt that the weather and road conditions could pose a problem. It was therefore, agreed that we should hold the event in Dublin or surrounding area.
We still plan to request one of our schools to host the Conference.
10.00 – 10.30 Registration
10.30 – 11.15 Speaker
11.15 – 11. 45 Questions
11.45 – 12.00 PACCS AGM
12.00 – 1.00 Open Forum
1.00 – 2.00 Lunch
2.00 Close of Conference
It was agreed that two parents from each P.A. would be invited to the Conference and if there is availability of further places, it will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
Regions: This is an area of concern for PACCS. Regions and regular Regional meetings are necessary in order that the members of the Executive would be aware of the issues in the schools by meeting parents from other schools. It was, therefore, decided that we need to make a concerted effort to make the Regions more relevant to what we do.
In this area, we need the assistance of the Parents’ Associations and invite you to forward the ideas and suggestions to PACCS after each meeting of their Parent Association or Regional meeting. We would also welcome a Regional Report.
Website: Our Website is an area which needs to be kept updated and PACCS would love to receive articles about your Parents’ Association and/or school achievements, which we will be delighted to highlight on the site – Invitation: Please submit your articles and/or photos to [email protected]
CAD: The Community Awareness on Drugs Family Focus Programme was reported on by one of our Executive members and it was agreed that this should be highlighted on the Website. The link to this will be on the site shortly, together with a report on their work and what is on offer to parents.
NPCpp: NPCpp had planned to hold their AGM in October. However, it had to be cancelled due to storms etc. and was held this month. The incoming President is Geoff Browne. A further report will be available later.
